Elnaaz Norouzi On Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s Death: ‘The Most Unbelievable News For Us’

Iran-born actress Elnaaz Norouzi, widely known for her role in Sacred Games, has publicly reacted to the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling it the “most incredible news” and celebrating the development on social media.

In a series of posts on her Instagram Stories, Norouzi described the news as something she and many others “have been waiting for 47 years.” She wrote, “The most unbelievable news for us! The news we have been waiting for 47 years! Khamenei is dead. God is great.” Following this, she shared another story featuring the same headline, adding the word “thank you” along with celebratory emojis.

The actress also posted a video of herself dancing, during which she referred to Khamenei as a “dictator” and stated, “We are celebrating a dictator’s death, folks! Khamenei is gone.” These reactions came amid reports that Khamenei was killed in joint airstrikes by the United States and Israel, an event that has significantly escalated tensions in the Middle East.

Born in Tehran, Norouzi later moved to Germany before building her acting career in India. Her comments reflect her long-standing criticism of the Iranian regime and the Supreme Leader’s three-plus decades in power.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, who had been in power since 1989, is said to have been killed during US and Israeli missile strikes, prompting Iran to announce a period of national mourning while also launching retaliatory attacks. The reported death has triggered a wide range of reactions globally, from celebration among critics of the regime to mourning among loyalists.
